Working with the inherent movement of color has characterized the various groups of works in Rainer Splitt’s oeuvre since the 1990s.
Elementary actions set the color in motion; not the artist, the color itself makes its form.
Pourings on boards are panels that are erected immediately after the paint has been poured out, allowing the paint to flow down following its gravity. The resulting trace surprises with its precision and individual form.
