For several decades, Nicole Hassler has been transforming cosmetic products, which are categorised as inherently feminine, into art. In doing so, she neither takes a feminist position nor the opposite, nor does she pass judgement on these commercial products. One could say that she takes a stand against waste. However, she is primarily concerned with using these materials as a painting technique and acting as a painter by reflecting on fundamental aspects of painting.
