Between paintings and sculptural works.

Peter Sehringer’s visual concepts are derived, indirectly, from nature and the material world. For example, he uses scientific illustrations of nature, fabric samples and photographs as templates. Radically simplified and stylised, these objects become hieroglyphs of their meaning – not representations, but a particular form of visualisation and spiritual kinship. The balancing act between aesthetic and ethical sensibilities is intentional.
The images are created in several labour-intensive stages. The selected motifs are projected in enlarged form and transferred.
