Andrea Myers works with pieces of fabric that she manipulates like prepared brushstrokes or marks, perhaps you could even call them pixels, making do with the palette that the textile industry provides her. She makes no alterations. Within this constraint, she improvises, creating color fields that capture a place, a time, a mood, often culminating with a remarkably artificial luminosity. From something solid, Myers creates light.
