We are exhibiting selected works from various creative periods.

By Alan Ebnother: the early tondos on paper from 1993, ‘green paintings’ from around 1998, ‘almost white’ from 2016 and ‘relatively black’ from 2018.
He applies the pigments in thick, impasto layers, breaking into the monochrome surface and dancing across the wet paint with a spatula or brushstroke; the smooth surface is shaken by barely perceptible ripples of colour. In this way, the artist gives the paint form and shape – and only in this way, for he allows neither a frame nor an underlying drawing to provide a firm anchor. Even the support itself seems to disappear beneath the impasto application of paint

We are exhibiting works by Rita Ernst from the series ‘Müstair 2014’, ‘Salinas Palermo 2019’, ‘Weite 2015’ and ‘Spazio 2016’.
Rita Ernst’s geometrically abstract painting has been enlivened by dynamic linear structures over the last five or six years – and one is tempted to speak of ‘perspectival viewpoints’. That is not entirely incorrect: the works entitled ‘Neue Weite’ and ‘Spazio’, for example, are based on architectural shadows she photographed herself, translating the interplay of light and space into colourful fields of intersecting grids.
