Lutzeyer continually explores the inherent nature of color and the physics of the material—in contrast to the creative process—as well as the transitions between the material’s own tendencies toward form and artistically intentional intervention.
In his new works, he develops multi-part objects, arrangements, and new “fusions” from basic elements that have formed over time in the “witch’s kitchen” of his studio.
With this approach to painting, the artist—born in Stuttgart in 1959—has been writing his own story for about 20 years and is continually adding new chapters. And for just as long, each new development has been presented at the Klaus Braun Gallery and documented in a catalog.
