Naqsh Raj
holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the prestigious National College of Arts, Lahore; Pakistan. She taught art at Comsats University, Islamabad for ten years. She is currently teaching in the Department of Art and Design at Nottingham Trent International College.
She believes in the intimate connection between visual aesthetics and ethics, which are in a constant process of reform. Her ongoing work is a marriage of mechanical and manual painting methods through a repetitive and mundane technique of making impressions with simple tools. “Conquering” an empty space through tireless effort is her main interest, but also allowing imperfection is a natural part of her current art practice.
We are proud to host this talented painter and lecturer’s first solo exhibition in the West. The works on display were created in England in 2022 and 2023. Works from the creative period in Pakistan (pictured left) are no longer available.
