For Ines Hock, color is a material of special quality, a substance that she allows to speak through her images in ever new differentiations. Considering her entire oeuvre, it becomes clear what it means to want to “comprehend” color. And this grasping of color is what distinguishes the art of Ines Hock: Her paintings invite us to make our own experiences with color, with light and with painting.
